Money comes in through Mobile Money
The customer tops up from Orange Money or MTN MoMo. Collection is run by licensed aggregators, who actually receive the funds.
The balance is a record, not a vault
The balance shown in the app is the accounting trace of what the customer paid in. LABO PAY does not keep the money: it stays with the licensed players.
Conversion is announced upfront
At payment time, the rate and fees are displayed and then held for a few minutes, long enough for the customer to confirm.
Settlement goes to China
The payment is executed by a licensed payment partner on the Chinese side, through to confirmation of receipt by the supplier.
What LABO PAY does not do
LABO PAY does not hold funds, does not trade currency on its own account, and is not a substitute for an escrow service. Its role is that of a technical intermediary: verify the customer, pass on the instruction, keep the record and answer for it.

Settled
- The money stays with the licensed payment companies that carry out the transaction. LABO PAY never holds it.
- An identity check is required before the first payment.
- Two Mobile Money numbers per account at most: one Orange Money, one MTN MoMo. Changes go through support.
- Every transaction is recorded on both sides, then matched against partner statements to catch any discrepancy.
Before opening to the public
- Have the regulatory framework reviewed by specialist counsel.
- Sign the agreements and open production accounts with the selected partners.
- Publish the terms of use, the fee schedule and the refund rules.

Does the payment debit my Mobile Money directly?
No. You first top up your LABO PAY balance with Orange Money or MTN MoMo. You then pay your supplier from that balance. These are two distinct operations, and the second one does not touch your Mobile Money.
When does it open?
No public date yet. Opening comes after legal review, security testing and putting the payment agreements in place. Leave us your contact and we will write at the steps that matter.
Do I need a bank account?
No. Everything starts from your Mobile Money. Conditions and amount limits will be set out before launch.
Who holds my money?
The licensed payment companies that collect your Mobile Money and settle with your supplier. LABO PAY passes on the instruction and keeps the record of your transactions; it does not keep the funds. The name and status of each partner will be published before opening.
What if a payment does not arrive?
If your balance is debited and the payment fails inside our chain, a full refund is planned, fees included, back onto your balance. A wrong beneficiary or a dispute over the goods stays outside that. Exact timings, caps and conditions will be published before opening.
Which currencies and which countries?
One route to start with: CFA franc to yuan, Cameroon to China. It is the most common need among importers, and we would rather do it well before adding others.
How does LABO PAY make money?
On a service fee shown on screen before every payment, and on the exchange margin. Both are visible at the moment you decide: there is no commission appearing later.
Will payments happen on this site?
No. This site presents the project. Payments will happen in the mobile app, planned for Android and iOS.
